This young man has overcome many obstacles to play baseball. One of the reasons he has succeded in this game is because of Larry Williams who reintroduced Carson back to baseball after he had gone a few years without playing and his current coach, Mike Hansen who is a good man and a wonderful coach. Carson Has a syndrome called FG Syndrome that causes intellectual disablilities and some health problems also. Carson’s strength is that he has always enjoyed sports. Many boys with this syndrome are nonvocal and have minimal use of gross motor skills. To his mom and dad, Carson is a genious. Carson has had teachers and coaches that have supported him in his endeavors and the boys from his team have been very supportive and understanding of his shortcomings. He has never been made fun of from any of his players and has received nothing but support from his entire team. Being on the Logan baseball team has meant so much to Carson and his family. Being part of a team is a life skill that is very important. Mike Hansen, the rest of the Logan High School baseball coaching staff, and the members of Logan baseball team have treated Carson with respect and helped him to be a better individual. Carson will miss his coaches and team a great deal. His parents are hoping that the Special Olympics will feel the void that Logan High Baseball will leave in his life. Nothing will ever fill the void that Coach Hansen and Logan Baseball will leave in Carson’s life. Carson’s parents would like to acknowledge Coach Hansen, his staff and the Logan High Baseball players for being awesome mentors to Carson. We love you all and would do anything for any of you. In our eyes, Mike Hansen, his staff and the Logan High Baseball players and their parents walk on water. We will miss you all so much and hope we can stay in touch over the years.
