Grant and Renee Christensen of Logan will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2018. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple in 1948.
Grant has lived his entire life in Logan, Utah. After his junior year at Logan High School, he enlisted in the Merchant Marines and served in the South Pacific for the duration of the war. He subsequently enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Japan where he earned his high school equivalency diploma. Grant had met and dated Renee Stanton prior to joining the Merchant Marines, and they corresponded throughout his military service. Grant worked at the Logan Post Office his entire career, as well as a variety of part time jobs. He is a lifelong member of the Logan 3rd Ward where he has served in many teaching and leadership positions, including bishop. Over the years, Grant enjoyed participating in a variety of recreational activities, including hunting and fishing, fastpitch softball, basketball, skiing and cycling.
Renee Stanton Christensen was born and attended schools in Hyrum, Utah graduating from South Cache High School in 1944. After her marriage to Grant, and while raising their own children, Renee tended children in their home for many years. She subsequently worked as a Deputy Assessor in the Cache County Court House for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. Renee has served in various church positions throughout her life. She loves children and served in the Primary and Nursery for many years.
She and Grant served together in the Logan Temple Baptistery for many years. Renee remains active and enjoys visiting with family and friends, gardening, word puzzles, and spending several days a week with her great-grandson, Cohen. She enjoys cooking and preparing meals for family member and any and all who come to visit.
Grant and Renee are parents to five children: Dennie, Sharon, Larry, Todd and Cory. They have nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren which bring much joy and happiness into their lives. Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren love spending time with Grant and Renee and enjoy visiting as often as possible. Happy Anniversary Dad & Mom – We Love You!
