Lynn and Susan are celebrating 50 years of marriage together. My, how quickly years have flown by. It has been quite a roller coaster ride.
Lynn and Susan first met in 1967 at the Arctic Circle on North Main Street in Logan, where she was a car-hop. It was a popular hangout for teenagers and Friday and Saturday nights.
Lynn was attending Utah Technical College in Salt Lake and would come home every weekend to work at Jack’s Chevron on 4th North and Main Street. They dated for over a year and were married August. 23, 1968 at the Colonial Mansion in Logan, Utah.
Lynn started working at Moore Business Forms (now RR Donnelly) a month after they were married and retired from there in 2009 after 41 years. They lived in a little house on Second East in Logan for three years and then built their first home in Millville, Utah in 1971.
They are the parents of three wonderful children: Angela (Ken) Nelson; Tami (Jayson) Curtis; and Ryan (Blair Reese) of whom they are very proud.
Susan took a job with the United States Postal Service in 1980 and retired from there in 2009 also. In 1985 they started looking for a place with enough property to have horses. They finally bought some property in the south fields of Millville and built their second home in 1987. Lynn built a barn, fenced the pasture and got a horse — achieving his lifelong childhood goal.He still rides his horse (he is on his third one).
Lynn and Susan have had many interests over the years. Fishing and hunting trips, camping, cruises, visiting many National Parks, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, riding four-wheelers and floating the Salmon River in Idaho. The kids have participated in most all of these activities over the years and enjoyed them too.
They have visited many state together: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida and Massachusetts. Susan has also been to St. Louis, Missouri; the island of St. Thomas; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Lynn has also been to New York; Chicago, Illinois; and Texas.
They have worked hard and played hard and taught their children the value of hard work. They have four wonderful grandchildren whom they enjoy and love very much: Tayton, Gracie, Kayden and Charlie.
The whole family recently went to Disneyland to celebrate this momentous occasion together. Thanks for all the memories!
