Back in the late 60’s at Sky View High, a Logan boy attending a rival basketball game was approached by a Sky View girl. Unbeknown to him, she was trying to make another boy jealous and decided linking arms with this handsome man should do the trick. Fast forward fifty plus years and Valden Gene and Ann Thornley Hoth are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They have raised five children, helped raise 18 grandchildren and while experiencing many ups and downs in their life together, they have persevered with much love and patience. Their commitment to one another and love for family has been an example that has strengthened those around them. There is no questioning where their commitments lie.

The countless hours spent on behalf of their children, grandchildren and serving others demonstrates the importance they place on family. Rare is the week that their home is not full on several occasions with wonderful food — usually including the best fresh fish in the valley and happy voices filled with laughter and crazy conversations.

Val and Ann raised their children in the best way possible. Teaching us to make sure that what matters most, matters most. We learned to work and play to the best of our ability. We had a good mixture of learning, labor, fishing, hunting, boating, skiing and camping. Every year we visit the Snake River as a family and this family tradition has been a great blessing.

Val and Ann love God and recognize his hand in their lives. They have taught us to love and serve others by their example and they continue to give all that they are in ministering to those they love.

We are forever blessed to call them OURS! Happy Anniversary from your Children and Grandchildren, we love you more than you know.
