Congratulations to Douglas and Claudia (Gittins) Larsen, who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Both Doug and Claudia were born in Logan. When Claudia moved Mendon to start 1st grade at the old Mendon school house, Doug was one of the other classmates. With eight kids their age in the school, anyone who knows Doug can envision how he would tease Claudia. They started dating their senior year at Sky View High School and were married the next year in April.

Doug and Claudia still in live Mendon, and have always been active participants in their church and community.

Doug is famous for his pancake breakfasts and award-winning chili as well as helping neighbors. He enjoys outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, fishing and camping. In addition to working on the farm that was shared with his parents, Doug worked in the maintenance shop at various manufacturers.

Claudia is a talented sewer creating beautiful quilts and dresses for daughters. She was always involved in her family’s activities, such as volunteering for several years as the coordinator for Mendon’s May Pole dance. She works in Logan as a tax return preparer. Together, Doug and Claudia enjoy traveling, gardening and trips in their off-road vehicle.

They are the parents of six children, Shane (Brenda), Toni (Greg), Jackie (Adnan), Robyn (Nate), KaDee (Phil) and Darci. They are the grandparents of 15 grandchildren. From all of the family, we extend our best wishes on your golden anniversary and look forward to celebrating more milestones!
