The children of Luana Johnson Davis would like to acknowledge and wish her a happy 95th Birthday!
Born in Logan, Utah on October 25, 1923, Luana’s life has been one of service to family, church and community. She shared 73 years of marriage with her dear husband, Lynn H. Davis, and raised a family of eight children.
The oldest of four and the only daughter to Uben and Louise Johnson, she had three younger brothers: Felleger, Elmer and Louis. She attended Logan High School. After graduating from high school in 1941, she completed Beauty College and worked in Salt Lake City as a beautician.
She met Lynn in 1944 when she was home for the weekend from Salt Lake to see her family. Lynn had just moved to Logan from Venice, Utah to attend school at Utah State Agricultural College (now USU). They began to date but with World War II raging on both the European and the Pacific fronts, their courtship was cut short when Lynn decided to enlist in the Navy. They were married on April 24, 1945, in the Logan Temple when Lynn was home on leave.
Luana has enjoyed a long life and, at 95, she still enjoys good health. She is thankful for her family and especially loves it when any of her 28 grandchildren or 48 great-grandchildren stop by to visit.
Her husband, Lynn H. Davis, her son, Steven L. Davis, and her daughter, Julia Ann Davis, have all sadly passed away. She has six living children: Lynnette Pickett (Keith), Jane Davis, Patricia Marshall (Scott), Jay Johnson Davis (Shaley Smith Spring), Luann Erickson (Kent), and Paul Ray Davis (Julie Gardner) and we are all close.
Mom, our family is so blessed to have had you with us for so many years. Thank you for the countless meals prepared, the handmade dresses for all five of us girls, the floors you mopped, the colds you tended and a house that always felt like home. Your love, support and prayers offered over the years have been a source of strength and goodness that we all have witnessed. We are honored to have you as our Mother and hope you have a wonderful 95th Birthday!
We are holding a private family birthday celebration with Mom. At her request, no gifts please. Visits from close friends are always welcome!
