The family of Sanford B. Mallory will honor him Saturday, March 16, 2019 for his 80th birthday.

Dad was born March 20, 1939, in Logan. He is the son of Sanford Hyrum Mallory and Margaret Mae Benson Mallory. Sanford is the oldest of four children and the only boy. He has three sisters: Bernice (Larry) Harris, Lyn Ella (Carl) Obray and Lawana (Dee) Olsen all of Cache Valley.

Dad graduated from Logan High School in 1957, where he was a member of the ROTC which he enjoyed.

The year Dad graduated from high school, he met Arlene Harris. They dated while she finished her studies at Logan High School and then were married October 6, 1960 in the Logan LDS Temple. They have been married for 59 years.

Dad and Mom both worked at Thiokol early in their marriage and enjoyed it. As the family started to grow, Sanford worked at Mountain Fuel for many years, was self employed for a time and worked for a construction company as a mechanic until he retired.

Dad is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has held many callings, including high priest secretary, scouts, Sunday school instructor and home teacher. He loved serving and gained many lifelong friendships. He has always been very proud of his family heritage and strived to follow their great examples.

Dad‘s health doesn’t allow him to get out much now, but he was always one to work outside just tinkering around the yard. He loves to restore anything, fish, hunt, camp and he especially follow his children’s and grandchildren’s lives, watching their joys and successes in this life. He is very proud of them all.

Sanford and Arlene are the parents of five children: Brad (Stacy) Mallory of Branson, MO; Yvonne Mallory of Smithfield; JanaLee (Scott) Gygi of Sandy; Tony (Diane) Mallory of Logan and Adam (Kerianna) Mallory of Lehi. They have eight grandchildren.

Sanford will celebrate with his family and friends. Happy 80th birthday, Dad!
