A COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Logan cosponsored by a Hyrum meatpacking plant is offering free ground beef to everyone who gets the shot.

“Every Covid-19 vaccine received will help keep our team members and our community safe and healthy,” stated Darren Olsen, JBS Hyrum plant manager in a media release. “This sweepstakes is a great incentive to encourage everyone to come out and do their part to help put an end to the pandemic.”

JBS has partnered with the Bear River Health Department to put on the clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at 655 E. 1300 North in Logan. The Pfizer vaccine will be available to people 12 and older, and anyone who receives a shot will receive 5 pounds of free ground beef.

People getting their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be entered into a drawing to receive free meat for a family of four for a year. There will be a separate drawing for the Saturday and Monday clinics.

No appointments will be necessary for the walk-in clinic.

JBS’s efforts to promote the vaccine among its workforce have resulted in nearly 65% of its Hyrum workers and 70% of its U.S. workforce overall getting vaccinated.
