Bud (Vivian R.) and Jan (Janice P.) Hylton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 27. They were married in the Methodist Church at Cape Charles, Virginia. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 17, 1970, in Atlanta, Georgia, and were sealed in the Arizona Mesa Temple on June 15, 1971.
They have four sons and one daughter: Randy (Trish), Chesapeake, Virginia; Scott, Miami, Florida; David (Brenda), Arvada, Colorado; Matthew (Wendy), Hampton, Virginia; and Elizabeth Harris (Matt), Hyde Park. They have 21 grandchildren — nine granddaughters and 12 grandsons — and three great-grandsons.
They have lived most of their married life in Virginia and the Southern states. They moved to Smithfield in 2005.
Bud and Jan have had the privilege of serving four missions: England London South Mission (1998-2000); Philippines Quezon City Mission (2004-05); Utah State Lake City Church and Family History Mission (2008-10) and Washington, D.C. Temple Mission (2012-14). They have also been privileged to serve four years in the Logan Temple as ordinance workers.
A family celebration was held in their honor to celebrate their 60 years together.
