Nellie Hansen Jenkins celebrates turning 80 years old on April 19. Her years have been filled with enduring love and service.

As the youngest of six girls born to Clifford and Ivy Hansen in Providence, her family taught her what love was. This bunch of sisters has always stayed close, supporting each other and having fun together through the years.

She is a great example of love and perseverance to her four children, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, they always know “their mother/grandma loves them”.

Nellie has loved and served the elementary school children of Providence, River Heights and Millville, preparing lunch for them and managing school kitchens for many years. She has also spent many years serving and loving the primary children and cub scouts.

Her love for the temple is great. She has served as a temple worker for many years in the Logan Temple, Ogden Temple and Brigham City Temple.

Her service and love extends to the people of Virginia where she served as a senior missionary, proselytizing there. She loves the gospel of Jesus Christ and her faith is strong and unwavering.

She loves her present home of Brigham City. She is dependable, hard-working and goes the extra mile in everything she does. She is creative, fun, a wonderful cook, gardener and homemaker. Nellie loves spending time with her family. She is loved by all those who know her.

Nellie will be celebrating her life with a family dinner this coming weekend.

We love you Mom! Happy Birthday!
