Schenks' 50th

Allen and DeeAnn are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They met on a random night out with friends. Mom had a boyfriend at the time, but Dad didn't care and told her she should stop dating her boyfriend and start going out with him.

With such smooth words she took his advice and they later got married on March 15, 1968. They raised four wonderful children: Troy (Alison); Corey (Janie); Jeremy (Lisa); and Lisa Schenk. They have 12 grandkids and two great-grandkids with one more on the way, and they love watching them grow up.

After a lifetime of hard work and never giving up on each other, they are enjoying life being retired. They're spending their days playing cards and other games, and when Dad gets sick of losing, you will find him out in his shop coming up with some project to do.

After a lifetime of Mom cooking and raising us kids, Dad decided he would give her a break and he would become Betty Crocker. You will find him making up a menu and slaving away in the kitchen while asking Mom to check to see if the noodles are done. After Mom's accident in 2000 they decided to slow down life and enjoy every moment they have with each other.

In the summertime they love to take their side-by-side out and enjoy rides through the mountains. They love spending time with their kids and grandkids going to football games, wrestling matches and concerts.

Here is to a lifetime of hard work and never-ending love for each other. Happy 50th!
