LaRae Lewis Nielson will be turning 90 years old on April 23, 2018.
Her family would like to announce a celebration being held in her honor at the Bear Lake Manor on April 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
LaRae is enjoying a long and lovely life.
She was born in Soda Springs to Wilford and Ruth Lewis. She grew up in Conda, Idaho, enjoying a close, tight-knit community.
She excelled in music and school. She graduated at valedictorian of Soda Springs High School.
Her father, "Wic" loved to raise and race horses. One day, LaRae met a handsome, young jockey who was working for her dad. His name was Farrell Nielson. They fell in love, but Farrell was leaving to serve in the Navy during World War II. They wrote letters to each other every day while he was away.
When Farrell returned, they were married in the Logan Temple and settled in Ovid, Idaho. They raised five children on their cattle ranch.
LaRae is a woman of many talents. In her younger years, she loved to sew beautiful clothing, cook amazing meals, and care for her lovely home and gardens.
She is a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Her family is thrilled LaRae has lived 90 years, and we are excited to celebrate with her on this day.
