Children run laughing through the orange-streaked warm dusk evening, grasping sparklers as they emit showers of glowing colored sparks. Firecrackers, Black Cats and Lady Fingers explode, momentarily breaking the sound of laughter. A family blanket lay across lawns, ice-filled galvanized buckets hold bottles of Rootbeer and sweet red watermelon. It’s the Fourth Of July, and Bear Lake County has geared up for a fun-filled day of activities for the community!

Party like it’s 1776 beginning on July 3rd! Paris is hosting an “Evening In Paris” there will be festive live music, and live entertainment on the stage on Main & US 89, Paris City Park on Main Street 5-10 p.m. Admission is Free! Let the music flow through your soul and awaken your spirit.

On the morning of the Fourth Of July kick off your celebration with a choice of a delicious local home cooked breakfast! Montpelier is offering a pancake breakfast at Allinger Park sponsored by the Rotary Club, 7 a.m.- 10 a.m. Adults $7.00 children 6-12 $4.00 under 5 free. Paris is also hosting a tasty chuckwagon breakfast at 6:00 a.m. at the City Park. Adults $8.00 kids 0 — 12 $5.00 under 6 Free.

Want to eat breakfast and burn off calories? Enter the family in the 41st Annual KVSI Fun Run. Walkers to begin at 7:00 a.m. Runners to start at 8:00 a.m. The run will start at the Wave studios in Montpelier and will end at the Paris City Park. Registration is $20.00 and includes a t-shirt and breakfast. Registration can be done online before the race.

A Patriotic Pageant will be held at the Paris Tabernacle, and admission is free!

The always popular Fourth Of July Parade in Paris begins at 1:00 p.m. See the spectacular floats, old cars, cheerleaders, businesses and more! Bring a bag to hold the handfuls of candy and swag being tossed to the cheering crowd!

After the parade head on over to the Youth Rodeo 3 blocks east of Main street in Paris. Admission is $4.00 per person or $12.00 per car. Enjoy food and drinks Mutton Bustin, Greased Pig catching, and other new events! Donations welcome

There will be a dazzling fireworks show at dusk in Montpelier. Arrive early at Allinger Park and enjoy the celebratory music, show to start at approximately 10:00 p.m.

The Fourth Of July isn’t all about barbeques and fireworks. It’s also about freedom, liberty, and the birth of our country. Take the opportunity to teach your children the real history of Independence Day.
