truck power lines

Rocky Mountain Power workers remove power lines from a truck after it hit them on Friday in Lewiston.

People in northwestern Cache Valley reported power outages Friday afternoon shortly after a grain truck apparently pulled down the power lines as it was leaving Ritewood Eggs.

The driver of the truck reportedly told dispatchers he was not injured, but he was required to remain inside his truck until power crews arrived on scene to safely separate the truck from the live wires.

According to the Rocky Mountain power outages map, more than 1,200 people were left without power throughout the remainder of the afternoon.

People in Newton, Trenton, Clarkston and Benson reported power outages after the incident.
