An Idaho man who apparently lived in Lewiston in his youth was arrested at his residence in Pocatello on Monday and booked into the Bannock County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Utah to face allegations of child sex abuse, The Idaho State Journal has reported.

According to court records, 47-year-Dustin John Andrew is being held in the Bannock County Jail on a fugitive warrant charge based on an arrest warrant authorized by a 1st District Court judge on May 3.

According to local court records, Andrew has been charged locally with one count of sodomy on a child, a first-degree offense, and two counts of sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.

The allegations surfaced when an adult female told investigators that Andrew forced her to perform oral sex on him from a point early in her childhood to the age of 13, when another girl was allegedly encouraged to participate. The latter girl told adults, and while the alleged abuse ended at that time, it was never reported to police until late last year.

Andrew made his first court appearance in Idaho on Tuesday, and a May 21 extradition hearing has been scheduled. He will have the ability to waive extradition, thus speeding up his return to Utah.

Once he has been booked into the Cache County Jail, criminal proceedings can begin.
