A 27-year-old Logan charged in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of an 18-month old child remains in the Cache County Jail, where he is being held following his arrest.

Andrew Oakeson, who reportedly moved to Logan in February this year, recently spoke with a therapist and reported his use of child pornography and the subsequent abuse of the toddler.

Oakeson, was charged in 1st District Court with sodomy on a child, two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, each first-degree-felony offenses, and lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor.

According to a probable cause statement filed at the time of arrest, Oakeson told police that he viewed child pornography on his cell phone on four particular dates, and on two of those dates, he touched the child inappropriately.

He was arrested on June 29 after speaking with police and bail was set at $150,000.

The Cache County Attorney’s Office has offered a plea deal for Oakeson to consider and discuss with his attorney in the next week before his next court hearing on July 23.
