Tristan Larson

A 20-year-old North Logan man allegedly used Snapchat to lure a 13-year-old girl to his apartment where he forced her inside and raped her, police said in a probable cause statement.

Tristan Larson was arrested and charged in 1st District Court with rape of a child, a first-degree felony. He is currently being held without bail in the Cache County Jail.

He made his first court appearance this week and asked for additional time to hire an attorney.

According to the probable cause statement, Larson sent a Snapchat message that appeared to come from an account belonging to another female known to the recipient — and while pretending to be her, he reportedly invited the alleged victim to his apartment.

She agreed on the belief that she was meeting a friend, the document states.

The document states that the alleged victim was “confused and surprised” when Larson answered the door. He allegedly pulled her into the apartment, gagged her and pushed her down the hallway into a bedroom where she said she was reportedly raped.

Larson is also facing misdemeanor drug charges based upon the discovery of drugs and paraphernalia found in his apartment after police obtained a search warrant.

He is expected to return to court next week.
