Logan City Justice Court Judge David Marx, who also serves North Logan City and Hyde Park City, has just over two weeks left on the bench before he retires at the end of the month.

An open house in his honor will be from 3-5 p.m. April 12 at the Logan City Municipal Justice Court, located at 446 N. 100 West in Logan.

Marx, who was appointed to the bench in 1997, has received several awards during his career, including the Court Service Award in 2007, the Quality of Justice Award in 2018 and the Judge of the Year Award in 2013.

Courtroom observers have praised him for his firm yet compassionate demeanor, his respectful consideration for each case, and the efficiency of his courtroom.

Marx has also held a number of positions within the statewide judicial system, including chair of the Justice Court Board, the Utah Judicial Council, the Councils Management Committee, and education director for justice courts in the First Judicial District.

Marx’s last day is April 30, but to date, there has not been a replacement named for his position.
