Alex Boyé returns to Cache County for second ‘Ignite the Light’ event
Cache County’s annual “Ignite the Light” event is returning on Aug. 22 to bring awareness mental health issues.
According to a news release from the county on Thursday, the event will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cache County Fairgrounds with a live performance from musician and recording artist Alex Boyé.
The event focuses on bringing awareness to suicide prevention and mental health issues. Food trucks, community education booths, and a first responder appreciation reception will be featured at the event, according to the release.
“Community support for those experiencing mental health difficulties is important” said County Executive David Zook in the release. “Connecting people with resources is vital for healing. I’m thankful for the generous support of our sponsors and nonprofit organizations who make this event possible.”
The event is funded by donations to the Cache Community Foundation, a county nonprofit.
Monday’s event will mark the second Ignite the Light event, as well as the second performance by Boyé. A highlight reel featuring last year’s concert, as well as a list of last year’s donors, can be seen on the county’s website.
