The 18th annual Bear River Celebration and Free Fishing Day is this week.

On Saturday, children and teens, along with their families, are invited to the Willow Park West Skylar Pond, 500 W. 700 South, Logan, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn about water conservation and quality, wildlife, recycling and the Bear River Watershed.

Free fishing, education booths and activities such as fly tying and face painting will be available. Children can check out fishing poles and fish for free without a license. A prize will be given out to the first 300 youth who compete in activities at the booths.

On Free Fishing Day, anyone may fish at any public fishing area in Utah without a license.

More information about the events in Logan can be found at bearriverlandconservancy.org or by emailing the executive director, Casey Snider, at casey@bearriverlandconservancy.org.
