Power utility employees from around the state will gather in Logan on Thursday for the 2019 Intermountain Power Superintendents Association Lineman Rodeo.
This friendly competition involves power utilities from throughout the state who are members of the association. Each utility sponsors at least one three-man team to participate in events such as climbing a 45-foot pole to change cutouts on a three phase transformer bank or replacing a pole-top transformer.
The event is hosted by the Logan City Light and Power department this year and is free of charge. A flag ceremony and welcome from Mayor Holly Daines will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and events will begin at 9 a.m. at the Cache County Fairgrounds, 450 S. 500 West, Logan.
