A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup hauling cattle in Logan Canyon on Saturday.

The Utah Highway patrol reported the accident occurred at Mile Marker 472 near Wood Camp just after noon.

U.S. 89 through the canyon was closed for more than two hours after the accident as response personnel and investigators worked to clear the scene.

Trooper Andrew Battenfield said the accident occurred when the 59-year-old motorcyclist, riding alone, failed to make a turn on the highway going northbound and laid his bike down, sliding into a pickup pulling a trailer with cattle coming from the other direction.
