A man is dead after an auto-pedestrian accident in North Logan on Tuesday night.

Officers were dispatched around 6:45 p.m. to an auto accident with injuries near 2600 North Main Street in North Logan. According to a press release from North Park Police Chief Ulysses Black, the pedestrian walked into the northbound lane of travel and was hit just north of the intersection.

“Witnesses on scene told responding officers the male was not in a crosswalk when the accident occurred,” Black wrote. “The male was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident.”

According to Black, the driver involved remained on scene and is working with officers in their ongoing investigation.

Further details are not being released at this time. The official cause of death will be determined by the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner.

Black thanked local law enforcement agencies for their help with the investigation and offered condolences for all involved.

“Our thoughts are with all those involved and for the family and the friends of the deceased,” Black wrote.
