A local holiday and event decoration company is asking the public to nominate recipients for its annual service project decorating the houses of deployed U.S. military service members.
Christmas Decor Inc. is accepting nominations for this year’s Decorated Family Program through Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.
Each year, participating local franchisees from Christmas Decor, like Christmas Decor by Specialized Pest Control and Lawn Care in Hyde Park, donate their products, resources, time and expertise to create displays to brighten the holidays for service members and their families throughout the U.S.
For the 2018 holiday season, the company is seeking to attract hundreds of nominations that result in decorating at least 200 homes.
“The Decorated Family program is our way of thanking the more than 170,000 active-duty men and women who will be deployed outside of the United States and its territories this holiday season,” stated Travis White of Specialized Pest Control and Lawn Care in a press release. “It’s a privilege to be able to light up the holidays to thank these brave men and women and their families for their dedication and service.”
Christmas Decor corporate will select military families from the nominees in each community based on the family’s location (to ensure there is a local franchise to provide the award) and the impact of their story on the judges.
Friends and family may nominate a deployed service member by clicking on the Decorated Family Program link on Christmas Decor’s Facebook page at FB.com/ChristmasDecor and completing a nomination form.
