Officials have located the body of a Logan man who died at Gunlock State Park after jumping from the top of the waterfalls.
Emergency crews first responded to Gunlock State Park Friday afternoon after receiving reports that Brandon Gary Johnson had been jumping from the top of the waterfalls into the water and had failed to resurface.
According to a press release from Utah State Parks, Johnson, a 36-year-old from Logan, had been working as a foreman in Washington County for the last four months.
Utah State Parks Rangers, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Search and Rescue, and Bureau of Land Management law enforcement responded to the scene to assist in the search. Crews recovered his body from the water Saturday morning.
It appears that Johnson died from the impact, the press release stated. However, the incident remains under investigation.
