Support Local Journalism

To the editor:

Two candidates running for the River Heights City Council have my full support in the upcoming election.

Nancy Huntly, currently on the City Council, gives due diligence to the complex issues before the city. She arrives at each meeting fully prepared, well informed, eager to serve everyone in River Heights. She listens carefully, asks penetrating questions, and speaks thoughtfully. She will continue to serve us well.

Janet Humpherys Mathews, another candidate, would bring her sincerity and her love of River Heights to the council. Janet grew up in River Heights. She broadened her world by living in Colorado, Maine, and Vermont, before returning home to River Heights, the place she loves. As the writer Terry Pratchett said, “Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors.” Janet certainly sees extra colors in River Heights. She will serve us well.
