The week of June 24-28, Preston school bus drivers competed in the annual State Safety “Roadeo” Competition in Boise. Kelsey Cleverly took first in state transit qualifying her to attend the 49th Annual School Bus Driver International Safety Competition held on July 21st, 2019 in Austin, Texas.

“Kelsi is a great asset to the school district and is diligent in her responsibilities of keeping students safe, as they go to and from school. She certainly represents the caliber of drivers that we have in our district and I’m excited for her opportunity to represent Idaho at the national bus driver competition,” said district superintendent Marc Gee.

The School Bus Driver International Safety Competition began in 1971 as the National School Bus Safety “Roadeo.” This is one of the most important events in the industry, with the best school bus drivers from the U.S. and Canada competing for top honors and recognition.

Lori Bird took second in transit at the state competition in Boise.
