A 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, belonging to Adam Spackman, caught fire as it was driven to Preston on Jan. 7. The cause of the fire was undetermined. There were no injuries.

The Franklin County Fire Department also responded to two carbon monoxide alarms, one the night Jan. 10, and the other the morning of Jan. 11. The deadly gas was found in both homes (1393 East 400 North, Preston and 747 South Ford Bend Road), and was traced to heating equipment in the homes, said fire marshal, Matt Gleed.
