Preston Kiwanis is anticipating record crowds this year at the rodeo and is calling for as many volunteers as it can find to grill burger, take and run orders, take payment, set up and clean up, said Connie Young secretary and treasurer of the club. To help, interested persons may contact her at 208-851-0573.

Proceeds from hamburger sales at the Kiwanis Club’s Burger Booth are used to fund their community projects such as supporting the Preston City Recreation Department. In the past, the club has helped with the splash pad.

“We received 100 children’s books which we will be working with the Preston Education Foundation to distribute to children in a meaningful way,” said Young. The club also provides scholarships for both high schools, an award at the junior high and sponsor the budget for Key Clubs at both high schools.

“We really want to work with the other clubs, because we’ve found that when we do, we are able to accomplish some impressive and meaningful projects,” said Young.
