A motion to delay trial was granted to Marlin McQueen's defense attorney on July 1. Attorney Don Marler has not yet been able to meet with McQueen to go over new evidence submitted. County prosecutor Vic Pearson supported the delay in order to avoid any appeal issues in the future. A pretrial conference has been reset for July 25.

McQueen has been incarcerated since he was arrested in January. He allegedly stabbed to death Willie Lovin in Lovin's Franklin County home following a party, which McQueen attended.
