“Everyone must go...that much we know.

“If only we could capture in nearly every chapter something we wish to recall about you.

“Maybe its something as humorous as the color of your favorite shoe or the day you colored your hair blue.

“I remember your smile that could be seen for a mile.

“I remember your wrinkle-worn hands from your years of scrubbing pans and digging vegetables from the lands.

“Maybe there are many important things in our minds to hold...like who you were, what you taught, how you lived and how you loved.

“Maybe it is your stories of lessons and sacrifice from your service during times of war that you endured from long before.

“All these thoughts we can use for our hearts to fold. However; whatever WE choose to cherish...they will be YOUR gift to us so YOU will never perish.

“Thank you dear people for allowing us into your homes and lives; for trusting us to walk with you on a very personal journey of laughter and tears.

“And in return, hopefully we helped you to remove some fears. You each have become a dear friend that will never end.

“We are better....it is true...because we had the blessing of getting to know you.“

As a member of the team of Signature  (Access) Homecare and Hospice, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hopefully the thoughts I wrote in this poem will help you as a community understand why we love doing what we do. Each of you are a special memory that has taught us something.  And in turn, we are better people for crossing your path. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sincerely,

Thelma Roley
