Due to the holidays, Preston’s wrestling team was a bit thin at the Bobcat Brawl in Smithfield on Jan. 3, but those who attended did well. They traveled to Jerome on Jan. 7, for a tri-match with Jerome and Burley. Friday, Jan. 10 they will be in Pocatello. The quad will include Preston, Pocatello, Wood River and Mountain Home.

In Smithfield the Indians had three grapplers who won all their matches. Brayden Weisbeck won two by fall and one by technical fall; Caigun Keller won two by fall and one by decision and Parker Bodily won all three matches by fall.

David Seamons competed in the Rollie Lane Invitational in Boise where he competed in eight matches and won six. Two of those were by fall and two by major decision. The Preston senior was just one win away from placing in the 70 team tournament.

“Dave wrestled well,” said Coach Jason Keller. “It’s his senior year and he wanted to wrestle in it. I wanted him to go up and get some confidence in big matches, and he did great.”
