The Preston cross country teams opened the season winning the Terry Jones Invite in Malad on Aug. 26. Seven schools participated at the high school level and Preston captured first in both the boys and girls team scores. The Indians travel to Soda Springs on Saturday, Sept. 4, for the Cardinal Classic where over 40 schools from all over the state will compete.
The girls team won the Terry Jones Invite with 15 points followed by Malad with 50, Hillcrest 87 and Marsh Valley at 100. Mckinley Scott was 1st overall (20:39), Angelie Scott 2nd (20:47), Maren Leffler 4th(21:18),Taylor Romney 5th (21:18), Alyssa Crowther 6th (21:32), Oakley Reid 7th (21:36), EllyJeppsen 8th (21:37) and Tenley Kirkbride 10th (21:56).
The boys team scored 15 points well ahead of second Malad at 65, Firth scored 74, Hillcrest 93 and American Falls 140. Edison Leffler 1st (16:17),Reynger Davidsavor 2nd (16:37), Garrett Hale 3rd (16:45), Luke Visser 4th (17:26), Druw Jones 5th (17:40), Ty Robertson 6th (18:01), Tristan Lyon 8th (18:37) and Gage Cordner 9th (18:45).
