A semi truck and trailer loaded with molasses rolled off HWY 36 near mile post 14 at about 10 a.m. today. The driver escaped serious injury, sustaining cuts and bruises.

Dattage Towing of Logan has been dispatched to the scene. Removing the truck and trailer from the side of the road will like require the road to be closed for a while, said Franklin County Sheriff Dave Fryar.

It is unknown just how long that will be.

UPDATE NOV. 14, 2019 - Crews from Walton Feed continue to clean-up the molasses barrels and broken trailer today. HWY 36 will be open, but slow, as the flaggers conduct traffic to allow the clean-up to continue.
