The Lady Pirates are looking like the favorite in the upcoming district tournament as they hold the number one spot and are undefeated so far in district play. There are just three games left in the regular season but they are all district opponents. Each one is critical to maintaining their position.
West Side travels to Malad tonight, Oct. 6, for a match at 7 p.m. They host Bear Lake, which is only two wins behind the Pirates in the district standings, on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.
The Pirates won the championship at the Malad tournament in Malad in Oct. 1-2, losing just one set in all of the matches. Only Malad was able to force a third set, though Layton made West Side work hard for both their wins, keeping both sets close, right to the end.
