West Side cross country attended the Bob Conley Invite in Pocatello on Oct. 8, and the boys placed fifth and the girls sixth overall. The team participates in the Preston Invite on Wednesday) Oct. 13.

The Pirate boys competed against 17 other schools and finished well ahead of district rivals Bear Lake and Malad who also attended the race.

Bradyn Noreen led the boys in 19th place with a time of 17:27.3, followed closely by Grant Clawson in 20th at 17:28.2. Samuel Beutler (17:59.6) was next for the Pirates then Kaden Telford (18:21.0), Brennon Winward (18:47.5), Sam Tolman (19:17.3) and Jed Hurren (19:18.3). The pack time of the top five Pirate harriers was just 1:20.

Fifteen teams participated on the girls side and the Lady Pirates came in behind their district foes. Malad placed second and Bear Lake fourth.

The girls were paced by Johanna Ebert who took second overall with a time of 19:34.5. Aubrie Barzee (19:36.1) was just two seconds behind in fourth place. Eliza Olson (22:12.7), Keziah Westover (22:17.6) and Letti Phillips (22:24.3) also competed for West Side.
