SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Rene Rivera homered and singled three times, driving in four runs and scoring a pair as the Syracuse Mets beat the Charlotte Knights 15-8 on Tuesday.

Robinson Cano doubled twice and singled with a run and an RBI for Syracuse.

Syracuse took the lead in the first when Danny Espinosa hit an RBI single and Rivera hit a two-run single.

Trailing 5-1, the Knights cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Adam Engel hit a two-run home run.

The Mets punctuated the blowout with four runs in the fifth and six in the seventh. In the fifth, Ruben Tejada hit a two-run single, while Espinosa hit a three-run home run and Rivera hit a two-run home run in the seventh.

Zach Lee (4-2) got the win in relief while Charlotte starter Justin Nicolino (4-2) took the loss in the International League game.

Engel homered and tripled, driving home four runs and scoring a couple for the Knights. Danny Mendick singled three times, scoring two runs.
