Skyway Junior Golf Tournament
Registration is now open for the annual Junior Golf Tournament at Skyway Golf Course, which will be held Thursday, July 18. Check-in will be at 8 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. For more information or to register, call (435) 257-5706.
multi-cooker class offered
Do you have a multi-cooker, but are unsure of how to use it, or wish you used it more often? This class walks you through the process of using your multi-cooker; beginning with taking it out of the box, the cooking process, and all the way to the finish line, which is loving your multi-cooker! The class is on Wednesday, July 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tremonton Public Works building, 300 E. 1200 S. in Tremonton. Garland City Library Happenings
Summer reading at Garland City Library started on May 22. Sign-ups are still going on at their website: www.garlandlibrary.org
Preschool storytime will be held on Mondays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 4 p.m. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is still going on! Visit the library website or come in to the library, 46 W. Factory Street, Garland, and sign up. The library also has a Facebook book club, not a face-to-face book club, and is still looking for people to join.
Museum seeks crayons for project
The Bear River Valley Museum, 11 E. Main St., Tremonton, is asking people to drop off used crayon pieces for use in a candle-making project for the upcoming Tremonton City Days celebration. Crayons can be dropped off during museum hours, 2-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, or can be left in front of the building if it isn’t open.
Entries Open for DesignArts Exhibition
Utah designers in any field are encouraged to submit their work for the annual Utah DesignArts juried exhibition by July 26, 2019.
The Utah Division of Arts & Museums’ DesignArts Program will host the exhibition, which is free and open to the public, from Sept. 9 through Oct. 18, 2019, at the Rio Gallery in downtown Salt Lake City.
Information and how to submit designs is at visualarts.utah.gov. Designers in any design field are encouraged to submit their work. Realized, conceptual, or prototype designs are eligible. The designer selected as the Juror’s Award Winner will receive a $3,000 award. Two designers selected in the student category will each receive a $500 award.
This exhibition honors and celebrates Utah’s great designers and provides a venue for the public to learn about and engage with the design community.
