All is quiet – the driveway is empty of cars from out of state, there is only one pair of boots in the hall again, it is time to start to put away the decorations. It is boring again.

Realizing that if we want to have green lawns in the summer we need this white, cold stuff now, does not ease the burden of having to shovel it. Winter is not my favorite time of the year.

Century Elementary School is back in session with students and teachers ready and eager to go forward. Church times have changed; those whose meetings began at 9 a.m. are now at 10:30 and those who were at 10:30 now meet at noon; those who attended at noon are now at 9 a.m.

Many thanks to those big snowplows who come by and plow the roads early in the mornings. Most thanks go to those who come by and gently scrape private driveways so others can get to work, go to the store and don’t feel trapped in their homes by snow.

Remember the December holiday good times as January settles into normalcy.
